As part of the first initiative of the Capital Market Development Authority to implement its long term goal of developing an Islamic Capital Market in the Maldives, the Capital Market Shariah Advisory Committee is appointed to advice the Authority's Board of Directors on Shariah related issues.
The Committee comprise of the following members:
Uza. Aishath Muneeza - Head of Islamic Finance/ Islamic Capital Market Development Section (Chairperson)
Uza. Muneeza holds a LL.M in Banking from International Islamic University Malaysia and presently she is doing her Ph.D in Law.
Ms. Fathimath Shafeega - CEO of CMDA
Ms. Shafeega holds a Master Degree in Banking and Finance from the Monash University, Australia.
Uz. Ismail Wisham - Private Sector Representative
Uz. Wisham holds a Master of Comparative Laws from International Islamic University, Malaysia.
Uz. Mohamed Nizam - Representative from Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA)
Uz. Nizam holds a Master of Comparative Laws from International Islamic University, Malaysia.
Former Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Abdul Majeed Abdul Bari is appointed as shariah adviser to the Capital Market Shariah Advisory Committee.
