Internal Auditor

Internal Auditor undertakes the internal audit activities of CMDA and also facilitates the annual external audit on a continuous basis.

 

Pension Supervision Department

The main responsibilities of this department include effective supervision of the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme and the pension industry.

These supervisory responsibilities also include Supervision of Investment and Performance of the Maldives Retirement Scheme, Specifying procedures for reporting and publications of reports concerning the Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme, Monitoring Appointments of Board Members and reports they are required to file under the Pension Act and take actions for the enforcement of the Pension Act.

 

Market Development, Training & Investor Education Department

The department is entrusted with the market development, training and investor education. It is also the responsibility of the department to prepare the Authority’s reports such as Quarterly Reports, Annual Reports and other research reports. The investor education and training initiatives will be undertaken by Capital Market and Corporate Governance Institute of CMDA.

 

Corporate Department

The department is entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities which include CEO’s Secretariat, Finance, Human Resources and Administration, and Information Technology. This department is also responsible for internal risk management function, office services and facilities management.

 

Licensing and Market Regulation Department

The department is responsible for licensing, supervision and enforcement activities. The broad mandate of this department is to supervise and regulate the securities market and the Stock Exchange and to ensure securities dealings are carried out in accordance with the regulations, in an orderly, fair and open manner.
 
 

Legal Affairs and Corporate Governance Department

This department provides legal advice to the Authority on policy and operational aspects. This department is also entrusted with the responsibility to promote a culture of good corporate governance in Maldives with the aim to raise investor (both local and foreign) confidence and to achieve high sustained growth for the corporate sector. The department also conducts investigations and law suits and take enforcement actions.
