All companies listed on the Maldives Stock Exchange are required to comply with the Corporate Governance Code (CG Code) ratified by the CMDA. Market intermediaries licensed by the CMDA are also encouraged to comply with the CG Code. Further more any company incorporated in the Maldives may voluntarily comply with the principles of CG Code as resolved by the Board of Directors of the respective company.

Companies may register with the CMDA to voluntarily comply with the principles of the CMDA Corporate Governance Code.
Voluntary adoption of the CMDA Corporate Governance Code
As part of CMDA's effort to obtain information on the level of compliance among listed companies, CMDA Supervision Department conducts off site surveillance of listed companies' governance on a periodic basis. The result of the findings shows that the listed the companies are taking steps to implement good governance.
